Density according to GOST 3900-85

On this page the algorithm of working with the "Density : GOST 3900-85 (20°C)" tab is presented.

Reduction of the measured density to 20°C and calculation of the actual density

  1. To bring to 20°C, enter in the appropriate fields the density measured by the areometer and the temperature at which the measurement was made.
  2. Click on the "Calculate" button to get the result.
  3. To determine the actual density, enter the density at 20°C (for example, from the certificate) and the temperature at which to recalculate.
  4. Click on the "Calculate" button to get the result.
  5. To change temperature units, you can use the context menu of the unit field (right mouse button) or double-click on this field (units will vary in a circle). If you check the "Recalculate when changing units" checkbox in the context menu, the program will recalculate the value in the "Temperature" field "on the fly." In settings, you can change the units for all tabs of the program at once.

Conversion of density from one temperature to another

  1. Unlock the conversion button using the "Density to density" checkbox.
  2. Enter the density measured by the areometer.
  3. Specify the temperature at which the measurement was made.
  4. Enter the temperature at which to recalculate.
  5. Click on the arrow button.
  6. In the bottom field "Actual density (kg/m3)" you'll get the result. Density at 20°C can be seen in the appropriate fields.
